If it is important for you to be close to the epicentre of events and at the same time have the opportunity to take refuge in an oasis of tranquillity, HOFT is just what you are looking for! The 19th century façade is the face of the building, but behind the historic façade lies an entirely different world – the world of flying trees, just like an oasis floating in the air, which allows you to feel harmony and make a respite from the daily hustle and bustle.
The concept of the new HOFT development is a green lifestyle and respect for the history of the city combined with modern architecture. HOFT is a unique project where nature itself – trees and greenery, like gardens floating in the air – is integrated into the architecture of the building. This is a new concept of the possibility of living in the historical centre of Riga, while being in and around nature.
The HOFT development is located in the Silent Centre of Riga at 5 Strelnieku Street. The development includes two residential apartment buildings – a historic facade building, which is an architectural monument with two new floors added, and a new building in the yard. Both buildings are linked by an underground parking.
Opening the door of the historic building dating back to the 19th century, you step into courtyard – an example of modern architecture, so unusual that it seems as if you opened the door to a wondrous secreted world like the one featured in Alice Through The Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. Once in this place, you can instantly feel the proximity of nature – its presence is felt both in the courtyard and on the balconies and in the general interior of the building. The courtyard overlooks conifers, generously decorating all levels of the building. This installation makes an incredibly strong impression – the trees seem to grow in a natural environment, on the peaks and slopes of the mountains. Greenery maintenance in the house of flying trees is an automated process using a special fixture system at different levels: conifers, such as cedars and mountain pines in addition to various types of bonsai trees are planted on the central facade, in the courtyard, on the terraces and on additional structures, thus creating a private park for residents of the house – a green oasis in the very heart of the city. Just like a reflection on the subject “of not only maintaining the presence of nature in a city, but also on how to increase its presence with the help of the latest technologies.”
When designing the HOFT project, consideration was given to parameters that exceed the building standards of the European Union to meet the highest requirements of reliability and comfort, which allows us to rank this development as the Premium Class property. High-quality materials and design solutions used in the decoration of the premises will not make any resident feel indifferent. Straight planes, strict geometric shapes and lines – every detail is made according to the architect’s sketch. There is plenty of air and light. All apartments have balconies at a minimum width of 1.80 m, and large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a spectacular view of the courtyard and trees. The ceiling height is 2.90 m in the apartments and 3.00 m in the penthouses. The balustrade is made of laminated glass and aluminium railings, which increases the safety of the structure, while the flooring uses composite boards. For comfort of the residents, the property has a spacious, quiet and fast lift, which has been custom-designed for the HOFT development.
