The real estate property appraiser estimates the value of various objects – land, buildings, apartments, offices, industrial and trading premises for a certain work task and purpose. Such valuations are usually needed for purchasing or selling a property, receiving a mortgage credit, drafting financial reports of a company, investing assets into the fixed capital of a company, legal formalities, etc.
There are two possibilities of obtaining the appraiser’s profession. One is studies in a four-year appraisal programme in Riga Technical University. The other possibility is prior education in economics, law or engineering and eight-month courses granting qualification of a real estate property appraiser’s assistant.
