Exhibition of original work by photographer Vilhelms Mihailovskis is open for public

Photography artist Vilhelms Mihailovskis is a winner of the prestigious World Press Photo’s Golden Eye Award and other international awards. Daniela Mrazkova describes this photo collection in the following words in the encyclopaedia Contemporary Photographers: “This is an impressive portrayal of the problems and the destiny of a human not only as an earthly cosmopolitan, but also as a citizen of the Universe.”


 

During his career, the photographerorganized more than 50 solo exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, and took part in more than 300 contests in this country and 45 countries of the world. He received gold awards from the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), BFFK and VENUS. V.Mihailovskis is a coauthor of the documentary Supreme Court directed by Hercs Franks.

The outstanding master of photography won the Golden Apple Tree Award in 2000, Cicero Award in 2006 and Riga Prize in 2007. In 2010, the artist became the Officer of the Order of Three Stars.

Latio continues the established tradition of holding photo exhibitions – this year, several exhibitions of well-known and new Latvian photographers are planned to take place.

The photo exhibition Humanus of Latvian photographer Vilhelms Mihailovskis is open to visitors until Līgo holiday (23 June). It is displayed at the head office of the real estate company Latio at 8 Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street, Riga, every workday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
