Mežaparks is a unique monument of building art and urban planning – a city garden with a rich historical architectural heritage. At Visbijas Avenue, in the old part of Mežaparks, surrounded by pine trees, a mansion with a spacious backyard and unique architecture is available. Designed by the architect Indriķis Blankenburgs, this single-family house has preserved the values of the past since 1914. The building combines rational and applied Art Nouveau forms, and the details are influenced by neo-classicism. The house is listed as an example of 1920s-1930s historicism and is one of the most beautiful masonry buildings in Mežaparks. Two symmetrical columns decorate the entrance of the building, supporting a first-floor balcony, while wooden windows, shutters and a veranda add a historical aura, creating an image of a fairy-tale house.
The historic elements inside the house were also preserved with great care: the original oak-wood parquet, fireplaces, ceiling cornices, an incredibly beautiful wooden staircase and wooden wall panels, which blend harmoniously with the luxurious interior. The ground floor and attic have been partially renovated, and the basement has been completely redesigned to become a modern, comfortable living space.
A spacious garage has been built in the 3000 sq.m. yard, and the building regulations allow for development of an additional building on the plot, as the maximum building density of the plot is 15%.
The house is attractively located due to the convenient infrastructure and various recreational opportunities, the proximity of the Lake Kisezers, as well as the aura of peace and tranquillity reigning in the area.
