Real estate transactions in Latvia grew 3.1% in first quarter
In the first quarter of 2014, compared to the same period last year, the total number of real estate purchase transactions in Latvia increased 3.1%, according to the latest housing market overview by real estate company Latio.
The number of housing transactions in Latvia grew 10.4% in the first quarter, while apartment transactions rose 8.4%, and private houses transactions – 20.8%.
Compared to the first three months of 2013, the total number of real estate purchase transactions in Riga grew 8.2% in the period from January through March 2014.
In Riga, housing purchase transactions rose 7.9%. Apartment transactions grew 5.7% and transactions involving private houses – 21.9%. More than 2,200 housing transactions were registered in the capital city in the first quarter of 2014. Apartment transactions comprised almost 90% of them.
